It was evident for many years that the Rainbow Beach community lacked good fish cleaning facilities. A bucket list destination for die hard fisho’s, anglers had nowhere to process their catch. This led to the construction of our first public cleaning bench area situated at our store at 1 Karoonda Road, Rainbow Beach.
Our first bench (large enough to accommodate 3 filleters quickly became a hit with charter fishermen, visiting fishers, and locals. Demand grew, along with the line up to use the bench so in 2021 we upgraded the bench to a full fledged undercover processing area that can accommodate up to 12 filleters and multiple charter boats at once.
In 2022 with help from Australian family business L. Wilson & Co. we upgraded the processing area with ultra bright lighting, screening, signage and water wash down area. We also incorporated a 20ft Freezer room for the freezing and disposal of fish waste and custom made flexible cutting mats for our clients.
Our public Cleaning facilities are superb and are available free of charge early till late 7 days a week.
